YES!PAM: ST2110 News Production System for SABC

YES!PAM – Production Asset Manager

YES!PAM, SI Media production asset manager, one of the several applications of our
end-to-end web-based platform YES!, is a modular, scalable,
fully customizable suite and entirely based on REST API.
It allows to entirely manage the production workflow, from the acquisition of the contents via
file ingest and live recording, to the delivery of the media to several destinations.

The YES!PAM solution includes an embedded proxy editor; a quick and intuitive
application to create an even more interconnected flow within production.
It also fully integrates the major NLE systems, with dedicated extensions that allow the editors
to work on projects using the SI Media library, directly from within their GUIs.

SABC chooses YES! for its new News Production System

These are just some of the reasons that convinced SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation)
to award our long-time partner and distributor in the African region,
AuCom SA (African Union Communications SA), for a major future oriented project for the replacement
of their exiting News Production System.

An ST2110-based end-to-end production workflow

The outstanding workflow proposed by AuCom SA and SI Media includes a comprehensive
production asset manager, in which YES! takes care of the entire operations.
Among the several key points of this massive project, that involves hundreds of operators from the biggest national
broadcaster in Africa, it has been designed to be entirely ST2110 based, both for the
live recordings and for the redundant studios, all based on
Matrox video boards and on a fully redundant GBLabs Space storage.

Third-party integrations for maximum efficiency

Several third-party systems have been integrated to provide the
end-to-end production workflow as per SABC requirements.
YES! is fully integrated with the LTO archive system provided by
Kumulate\Masstech and the existing MAM Dalet Galaxy, to ensure a seamless
cooperation among the different departments, with a consistent increase of the efficiency by the optimization
of all the internal processes.

HTML5 extensions and social media publishing

SI Media has also developed a dedicated HTML5 extension within the current
NRCS ENPS, creating an even more integrated workflow and the same result has been achieved by
providing to SABC NLE operators the dedicated HTML5 extension for both
Adobe Premiere Pro and Da Vinci Resolve.

To complete the production workflow, by integrating Hootsuite, YES! takes care
of all the publications to SABC social media platforms.
