The project has been designed in order to provide the possibility to manage all the video contents produced during political activities of the parliament, archive the material into a deep archive and upload the contents to be available for the final users (broadcasters, websites, social pages…), to which the parliament provides them.
The configuration is composed by 3 main servers and several clients. The database server includes the SQL engine and the MAM service to refresh the contents coming from recording on the main site.
From this machine SI Media receives and decodes an external xml for each incoming content imported from Ifind system. This file contains various metadata which will be used later by the operators from SI Media MAM client interface (both Windows and WEB based). Many fields are related to the parliamentary activity (recording date, place of the activity), and in addition also the information about the already created bookmarks.
Users can access the asset management to browse the already catalogued material, search and acquire a partial extract of a meeting.
The second purpose of the system is to archive all the contents. Together with the customer and the system integrator, the choice has been oriented to digital library Sony ODA, with all the benefits this technology could bring. There is a dedicated server to perform the archiving.
The workflow has been partitioned in two archives: the main, in which all the contents will be automatically delivered, a complete second one, removable stored in a separated backup site.
The third server is dedicated to the the retrieval and upload of the bookmarks (marked as “ready for tx” in the system) through SI Media transcoder to an FTP server, to be shared with external users who have the rights to access the contents.
