TV Republika: A Unified Workflow with Chyron

The transition from the journalist’s desk to the broadcast gallery has often caused bottlenecks in live productions.
SI Media and Chyron addressed this issue by connecting the newsroom and graphics into one workflow and interface.

TV Republika’s 24/7 mission

TV Republika operates a broadcast model for live news and political editorial content. Viewers can watch TV Republika on terrestrial and satellite TV, as well as via internet streaming. Scheduling includes structured English-language segments in the late hours.

TV Republika collaborated with 4Vision and SI Media to establish a production and playout environment comprising:

  • 2 MCR main channels with redundancy and streaming outputs
  • 2 studios (A / B) connected for live production switching
  • 8 ingest channels for continuous acquisition and source intake
Newsroom layer

YES!NRCS is the heartbeat of the system. Forty journalists use this technology to manage stories, rundowns and live updates in real time. A dozen editors work in Adobe Premiere Pro, which is connected to the YES!MAM workflow. They do writing, editing and distribution using the same media structure.

Journalists can access graphics inside the story timeline. These graphics are managed via HTML5 integration with Chyron CG inside YES!NRCS.
Users access the graphics package from within the story timeline, assigning graphics to each segment and linking them to editorial events.
When playing out the content, YES!Studio Playout executes the rundown and automatically triggers the graphics.

Operational extensions

To maintain a fresh broadcast flow, the following additional functions were adopted:

Dynamic break management
Filler assets are stored in dedicated folders and selected through random playback logic. This way the break openings are not always the same.

Studio control via hardware interface
An API Gateway connects Elgato Stream Deck devices to decoder and playout commands. Operators can use these devices to execute predefined control triggers.

Asset organization layer
Media baskets use custom metadata fields in a new, dedicated archive interface. This section is connected to the NLE plugin, enabling direct access to stored assets and facilitating search and retrieval by editors and journalists.
