San Luis+ is an Argentine television channel affiliated with Telefe that broadcasts from the city of San Luis.
The channel was founded in 1964 under the initial name Canal 2 and was the first to broadcast live in the city of San Luis. Starting in 1970, the provincial government approved the transmission of Canal 13 throughout the city, which began broadcasting under the name Canal 13 of San Luis, also known as San Luis+.
Currently, a part of the programming consists of broadcasting some content from Canal 11 in Buenos Aires (head of the Telefe network). The remaining part is composed by local programs, including Más Noticias (the channel’s news service), Agenda Directa (a morning magazine) and Más infancia (a container of children’s series) among other local contents.
In February 2024, San Luis+ has decided to take a significant step towards the future adopting YES! to digitize its end-to-end workflow and to manage its contents.
This project was carried out in collaboration with BVS (Argentina), the Argentinean leading system integrator company for the Latin America market, specialized in providing services and solutions in Media, IT, Cybersecurity, Smart Home and Customized Solutions, establishing schemes for each client based on their needs.
The deployment phase and subsequent training of San Luis+ staff owe their success to the excellent work of Andres Fuentes, a member of the SI Media Customer Care & Tech department for the CALA market, who supervised the daily training sessions.
The upgrade with SI Media led San Luis+ to enhance its broadcasting system with the following features of YES!
Developed to allow the creation and management of multi-channel daily playlists and advertising playlists. It offers the possibility to plan and schedule both clips and live events from any source and to set logos, graphic designs, A/V router switching commands and all secondary events related to broadcast automation, as well as the creation of advertising playlists automatically imported into the daily playlist in an extremely intuitive interface, which also allows the user to see a low-resolution preview of each piece of content for marking, cutting or checking graphic designs.
It is a file-based transcoder in which video and audio are automatically converted between all major SDHD4K broadcast formats. This high-performance transcoder offers broad format support, robustness, reliability, excellent output quality and scalability to meet the volume requirements of workgroups and companies.
Consisting of modules dedicated to the management of multi-format content (multimedia assets, documents and third-party software projects), it is fully integrated with production and various professional NLE systems and features a dedicated HTML5 panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, GVG Edius and BlackMagic DaVinciResolve and supports XML import/export (EDL) with the other major brands (Avid Media Composer, Apple FCP, Sony Vegas). It also offers a browser-based SI Media proxy editor with advanced features.
Playout automation system features a reliable and intuitive interface, suitable for installation and execution in the cloud with web graphics. As a highly flexible system, it can be easily adapted and configured to operate in stand-alone mode (channels-in-a-box) or to control all major branded video servers produced by well-known global brands. It can also control several types of devices like audio/video routers, master control switchers, graphics and character generators, logo generators, GPI/GPO devices, aspect ratio converters and many others. Furthermore, YES!Playout performs last second changes in the playlist while on air: the operator, using a dedicated toolbar, can skip the current event to the next event, insert or delete programs on-the-fly, edit the clips (cut-cut), change the playlist order and change or add graphics projects. All the commands are executable by configurable shortcuts.
The potential of SI Media software YES! and the solutions offered by BVS in system integration have enabled San Luis+ to enhance its system for creating, managing and airing its content by achieving a state-of-the-art system that can handle more workflows with high quality multimedia files with immediate management.
