1) What can you say about SI Media in Latin America?
SI Media is a consolidated company with more than 40 years in the market. We hope to expand the good work that has been developed in CALA, with more people dedicated to this region. My job will be to contribute to improve the presence of SI Media in Latin America where it has tremendous growth potential. We have very advanced products with technical characteristics that make our solution suitable for all channel segments in the region. SI Media has an ideal solution for each station that wants to face the challenges that are opening up in these times. We will get closer to customers and distributors. Improve the business alliances that exist with the partners, agencies and media of the region. We believe in the philosophy of doing business with people, companies and industry as part of a comprehensive society of which SI Media is part.
2) Which is the module of SI Media’s suite that is
having the most success in the last period?
The truth is that SI Media is having its success because of the completeness of the platform, so there isn’t any specific module that is getting more achievement, not only in the last period but since the very beginning. Obviously due to the architecture of the system that defines the MediaStore, our MAM, as the heart of the workflow, this is probably the module that the most of our customers has acquired during the years and in the last period as well, but this is just a consequence of the approach of SI Media: MediaStore as the center of the picture, playing a fundamental role for both Automation workflow for the Master Control Room play out and the News Production on the other side, natively integrated with both parts. There are not many companies in the broadcast market that can provide a real end-to-end solution, with a 100% in-house developed suite; many and many competitors are focusing on specific portions of the workflow, whereas SI Media goes on offering and developing the whole solution.
3) Next steps?
We want to become an influential company in the broadcast market more and more; we are proud of what we have done so far, but we have to keep working hard to maintain the same technologic standards in a world that is evolving every day.
We can do it by bringing on the same philosophy: get the customers satisfied, tailoring our platforms to the requests of the market and especially to those of our clients. This has been the winning strategy for SI Media for many years, and there is no need to change it.
4) On the technical side, is there any important aspect that SI Media is going to improve?
With the aim of proposing a full cloud solution, SI Media in the last 6 months has dedicated a lot of development to web proxy editing and integration of Artificial Intelligence into its MAM platform. Soon a major release will be announced: it will have as its main peculiarity the fact of being multiplatform (Windows, Linux, Mac), multi database (Microsoft SQL and MySQL) and totally web-based as regards the client side.
